Secondary art Program 

Expressions of interest are now closed for artists to register for the opportunity to deliver artwork for the new Tweed Valley Hospital.

Experienced artists from the Tweed Valley region, or with a significant connection to the region, were invited to submit an expression of interest for the range of artwork opportunities outlined in the Secondary Art Program for the new Tweed Valley Hospital.

Opportunities include applied (framed, wall art) and integrated full-length wall graphic responses.
Artists were asked to submit a response that fulfils the requirements as outlined in the Expression of Interest Artist Brief, available here:

Closing date: 5pm on Monday 18th October 2021.

A further EOI process will be undertaken specific to arts integration opportunities for our Aboriginal community.

Artists must be able to demonstrate they have the experience, skills and capacity to undertake the commission. EOI submissions will be selected based on the artists existing professional practice and their ability to complete the commission within the available timeframe and budget.

Artists will be chosen as part of a regional approach to artist selection where artists are either from the Region or have a significant connection to it. Every attempt will be made to represent a variety of local artists. 

Previous Experience (40%)
Proven artistic ability through a history of arts practice:

  • Current CV: 1 - 2 pages
  • Short Bio: Up to 200 words, written in third person
  • The Artist can choose to include which hospital Unit or Ward they would like to be considered for.  Note: this is not mandatory.  Only if artists have a particular affiliation with a specific unit should it be mentioned.

Quality of previous artworks (60%)
Artists are to include:
  • Images of completed artworks: Artists can send up to four separate good quality images.

Budget allocation
The budget allocation for each artwork supplied as a digital file will be between $150 and $500 per artwork. Fees will only be associated with artworks that are approved by the Arts Working Group to go in to production for the project.

The specific amount will be via negotiation with the artist and will depend upon the artists experience.
No fees are associated with the EOI process.
