    Local jobs from Tweed Valley Hospital works

    Northern NSW business Tweed Coast Demolition and Excavations was today awarded the first package of sub-contract works for the Tweed Valley Hospital, for the demolition of a number of structures and site remediation.

    This is the first of a series of packages listed for tender with the Industry Capability Network (ICN), which provides a gateway for Northern NSW businesses to be involved – with a significant number of local companies already registering their interest in the project.

    Community feedback sought on new hospital

    The NSW Government is calling for feedback on the concept proposed and planning controls for the new $582 million state-of-the-art Tweed Hospital. 

    From the 1st November to 13th December 2018, the Department of Planning and Environment is calling for community feedback on two separate proposals associated with the hospital.

    Tweed Valley Hospital site now acquired

    Another major milestone in the delivery of the brand new state-of-the-art Tweed Valley Hospital has occurred, with ownership of the site opposite Kingscliff TAFE transferred to the NSW Government on 2 November 2018. Preliminary site works have commenced with the immediate taks being to ensure appropriate environmental control measures are in place.

    Major tender released for design and construction

    A major milestone in the delivery of the Tweed Valley Hospital occurred on 12 October with the release of the major tender seeking early contractor involvement in the planning, design and delivery of the new hospital.

    NSW Health are seeking very early input to the design of the new hospital from the successful contractor. This will allow the experience and innovative ideas from the building sector to work together with Health Infrastructure, Northern NSW Local Health District and the community to ensure every step, from the design to the commissioning of the hospital, reflects best-practice.

    Lynne Weir, Acting Chief Executive for the Northern NSW Local Health District, has welcomed a major milestone in the Tweed Valley Hospital planning process, with the project lodging a request for environmental assessment requirements.

    Hospital site confirmed for Kingscliff

    It has been confirmed that the new $534 million Tweed Valley Hospital will be located opposite Kingscliff TAFE, following extensive community feedback and support for the greenfield site.

    Health Infrastructure shortlisted three sites based on independent expert advice and the assessment process was overseen by an independent probity advisor.

    Kingscliff to be the home of $534 million Tweed Valley Hospital

    The greenfield site for the new $534 million state-of-the-art Tweed Valley Hospital on Cudgen Road opposite Kingscliff TAFE was selected after an extensive search.

    The site was selected from more than 30 other across the region, and its location provides an opportunity to develop a health and education precinct over time.

    Treasurer Dominic Perrottet, Deputy Premier John Barilaro, Minister for Health Brad Hazzard and Tweed MP Geoff Provest  visited The Tweed Hospital on 13 June 2017 and announced funding of $534 million for a new state-of-the-art hospital for the Tweed Valley.
