primary artwork for Main foyer

Patients, staff and visitors of the new Tweed Valley Hospital will be welcomed inside by GARDEN | Healing together, a sculpture is being co-created by local artist, Hiromi Tango and members of the local community.

Ms Tango was appointed as lead artist for the hospital’s flagship artwork based on her concept of bringing the outdoors in, with a piece that reflects the dynamic natural environment of the Tweed Valley region.

Suspended from the high ceilings of the hospital foyer, GARDEN | Healing together will reflect a canopy of lush greenery, with textile sculptural elements reflecting local native flora and fauna.

In addition, GARDEN has presented a wonderful opportunity to generate a vibrant local energy and encourage interaction with the local community.
