Hospital service statement

 The Service Statement for the new Hospital was agreed between the Ministry of Health and the Northern NSW Local Health District in 2019, following extensive consultation with clinicians and staff. This consultation has informed the design of the new hospital.

The Service Statement responds to the forecast healthcare needs of the community into the future, and outlines the range of services that will be delivered at the Tweed Valley Hospital, which includes:

  • additional inpatient capacity
  • an expanded emergency department
  • enhanced surgical and ambulatory care services
  • diagnostic and interventional cardiology (new service)
  • an integrated cancer care service, including radiotherapy (new service).
