Detailed design

Also known as Design Development, this stage of the design process takes the outcomes of Schematic Design and adds another layer of detail.

This includes looking at specific room and ward layouts, as well as finalising the building façade.

It also includes developing a complete list of technology, furniture, fixtures and equipment and capturing each item in detailed ‘room data sheets’.

The Detailed Design process for the Tweed Valley Hospital project commenced in March 2020 and was finalised in late 2020.

This intensive process was driven by input from our Project User Groups, made up of clinicians and operational staff, patients, carers, as well as members of the community, to ensure the best clinical and patient outcomes for your new hospital.
